Goodness!

I just posted on FB that I seem to be in the doc's office once a week, but it's not that it SEEMS that way... it IS that way. After a run in with a ravioli can, Eli lost a toenail. It was gruesome and the toe got infected. That led to impetigo. He was on an antibiotic and is now better. But as brothers share EVERYTHING, Owen now has it. This is one GROSS disease!! ugh. So Owen now has his antibiotic and I hope that's better soon. I won't post pics cause I don't want to gross you out!

It's conference week, although they are quite time consuming, I love them and seeing the parents talk about their kiddos is always fun.

Paul is travleling a lot still, but we had the whole weekend together, the first in a month!! It's so nice when he's here :)

Owen has his tube surgery scheduled for November 3rd. I love my ENT and he said he is an excellent candidate with low to moderate hearing loss. I'm not nervous, but I'm sure I will be soon.

Eli turns 4 next week. Holy cow, how did that happen???? I'm in denial LOL. We'll discuss next week I guess :)

Catching up

It's been so long!!

The kids are great :) Eli still continues to make tremendous progress at school!!! I think some of it might be that he's almost four now, but I also think he's just happier at the new place. He's been talking about all the things he's learning these days and I'm so happy with the results. We made breakfast for dinner in the middle of a crazy storm today. When it was over, it was still raining while the sun was out. He thought that was really cook, he told me he was going to tell his teacher tomorrow. I thought that was really sweet :)

Owen is finally cruising around the furniture. He hasn't attempted walking on his own, but he's moving around just fine as it is, thank you. He and Eli are building a relationship and it's so cute! He only wants to be where Eli is and is enamored by him. He thought it was hilarious tonight that Eli was jumping from rock to rock. Owen just laughed and laughed!! And Eli likes him around too, except when he doesn't want to share his toys. This seems to be most of the time however...

We have the consult for Owen's tubes in about a week. Hopefully the surgery will be short and sweet and he'll do well. I don't plan on it being crazy... but you never know.

School is good. We fnish the six weeks tomorrow, it sure has gone quickly! I look forward to things calming down a bit soon. (I think it should have by now, but for some reason, it hasn't.)

Paul is still traveling and we are getting better at handling it. I'm very stingy with my weekends though and I need to get better about his having to leave. ergh.

That's it for now :)

whew... tired!

Well, first off: ME lol

I love my new school. I could not have been placed in a more welcoming school with master teachers who really care about their profession. God certainly has a plan for me. I also have some kiddos that I already truly care about and then some I am also truly worried about. I guess being a mommy overflows into every part of your life?

Paulie: working like mad and being gone all the time. I am trying not to struggle with this, but I am. I miss him so when he is gone. And, I miss all that he does for the family. We really missed him this week amidst ear infections, burnt tongues and vacationing baby sitters. He leaves again tomorrow, SUNDAY, but hopefully only one night. I'm trying to ignore the fact that he might be gone to Tel Aviv for Eli's 4th birthday...

Eli: Has made a dramatic turn at school!!! Naps are quite elusive, but overall, he's doing so much better. He even got the prize for the day for behavior last Friday!!! What a switch from when he was in school with me. Makes me sad that he couldn't be successful while I was there, but glad to now that our family made the right decision to leave. He did however burn his tongue last Sunday night at a restaurant and couldn't eat for days. Tonight though, he dropped a can of raviolis on his toe and it's really black and blue. Oh wait, this is the SECOND time he's done that in the last two months, so he'll now have matching big black toes. Please don't call CPS on me!!

Owen: Ms. Kellie, his teacher from Courtyard, watched him on Monday and I think really enjoyed a change of pace for her and also really enjoyed him. He honestly is such a little gem. Tuesday however proved to be murder for my mom as he screamed all day. Turns out, bad ear infection, no fever! And with this one, we now need tubes. So I call on Monday to get all that set up. I'm glad and nervous... Thursday and Friday were spent with Ms. Meaghan and again, he was spoiled rotten! I love those Courtyard girls :) He's a happy camper now with drugs...

All this to get organized for a garage sale today! We had four families involved and it was really fun. Nice to have great friends to spend time with and Eli's best buddy Connor spent the morning with us. Eli was in HEAVEN. We are now settling in for a quiet (hah) evening of football.

Tomorrow... is another day. We will send Paulie off and the boys and I will manage a Sunday without him. I am blessed today, are you?

ahhhh

School is going great. My class is sweet and lively and some of my kiddos are quite funny which makes the whole day go faster.

Eli has had two terrific days at school, after a very bad day. It's amazing what a little refocus from home will do!

Owen... is finally pulling up to his feet and I'm SAD. This little man is growing up too fast!!! He's even acting like he might pull those little feet off the ground soon. nooooooo....

The house is back in routine and it feels so nice. The kids are much happier and I know I am too. I need to lose some weight though and I'm ready to get going on that. I can now find that I have some time in my day and some solutions to the kid issue while exercising. that's been my excuse at least :) So keep me to it... gotta lose at least 10 before 35.

Good weekend

It's so nice when you fill your weekend with family and friends and it's not stressful!!

Jeff and Angie came over Saturday night and we watched some football and baseball and then decided we'd had enough of that and played games. So nice to see them... and the ring :)

Sunday and Monday were spent with the boys hanging out and going slow, very very nice. We had some great food and the boys were spent by tonight....

Eli

I have realized that I have been a terrible Mommy. This post is going to be about only Eli and what a great boy he is :)

First of all, he's so stinkin' smart!!!!! I am so surprised at the things he can do and figure out. He is very spatially oriented and can do puzzles with no issue.

He's opinionated and he has quite the vocabulary to say so :) He often tells me that he's frustrated with me LOL. And I've often heard that I'm annoying.... at least he can use his words right?

His imagination is limitless. He has some of the greatest dialogues when he's playing with his trucks alone. I feel quite silly when he asks me to play because I'm not quite as imaginative as he. Of course Paul is the master at this!!!

He's incredibly loving. He likes mothing better then to crawl in your lap and hang out or have you hold him. He wasn't so much like this as an infant, so it's nice to have him snuggle up and hold you.

His tenacity is amazing. while sometimes it can be an issue, I know that when he's older, he's going to be able to move mountains when he's older.

He's a precious precious boy. I am so lucky to be his mom and he has shown me so much, and we keep learning each day.
